Herbal Inn, Wimbledon

I was really on the fence with this one - there were a lot of nice touches, a very helpful staff, lovely Chinese music, and a very good foot rub, but...

...the deciding factor for me is whether I would go back, and overall I just don’t think I would.

It’s reasonably priced at £30 for 30 minutes, which doesn’t include the 10 minute herbal foot soak.  The room is clean and comfortable but more like a clinic than a spa - which I guess is what it is.  The doctor came in after 10 minutes, I dried my feet with paper towels, and then had a nice lie down on the massage table. 

It’s comfortingly clean and the doctor actually wore latex gloves for my reflexology treatment, and used a salve to soften my feet, and the foot rub was very good, but...

...after the shoulder and back rubs I’d enjoyed in China whilst having my feet soaked, the attention that my legs had also received and, well, the very comfy chairs I’d enjoyed my reflexology in... ...this was just a bit different to what I had expected or needed.

After my treatment he asked to check my pulse and the colour of my tongue and suggested a few deficiencies I might have and some tablets and teas that might help.  I declined, but appreciate that he may well have been right on the money - you never know.

One other small thing that did grate a little with me was that it would have been nice to have been offered some of the herbal tea sitting tantalisingly on the side - you never know, if I’d tried it I may have even bought some!

Don’t get me wrong, some of these are excellent, but I couldn’t, in good conscience give them a Pearl Recommendation.  Sometimes they were just beaten to the punch, or I couldn’t decide a clear winner, other times they had a lot right, but I felt they just weren’t there.  I don’t really want to give bad reviews, but anything I felt was really best avoided you’ll find in the Jellyfish section.
