What is a Biomat? The short answer, in my experience, is that it's a white plastic mat that certain practitioners like to place underneath you during massage or any treatment where you're lying down as an additional healing device.
Despite talking to several practitioners I'm still a little foggy on the details, perhaps because there is more than one kind of mat (just as there are many types of massage bed). Some work through heat, amethyst crystal properties and negative ionisation.
Although I have tried this several times I guess it's always hard to separate out any impact from the Biomat from the impact of the treatment.
It's never been particularly noticeable for me, but I've not noticed any adverse effects either.
